NIRMA Scholarship Terms and Conditions
1) Eligibility
a) Applicants must meet the specific eligibility requirements outlined in the scholarship announcement.
b) The Nuclear Records and Information Management Association Scholarship, hereafter known as the NIRMA Scholarship, is open to graduate students who are enrolled or accepted into an accredited institution in the United States, and enrolled or accepted into a program that could reasonably prepare them for a profession in record and information management.
c) NIRMA members, family members, or affiliates of NIRMA are eligible for the NIRMA Scholarship. If a NIRMA member is applying for the NIRMA Scholarship, they are not eligible to be involved in the NIRMA Scholarship Committee or participate in the grading of the essays.
2) Application Process
a) Applicants must submit a complete application, including all required documents, by the stated deadline.
b) Any false, incomplete, or misleading information may result in disqualification.
c) Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
3) Selection Process
a) Scholarships will be awarded based on the selection criteria outlined in the application announcement.
b) Decisions will be made by the NIRMA Scholarship Committee and approved by the NIRMA Board.
c) NIRMA reserves the right to withdraw an offer if an applicant is found to have provided false information or fails to meet the eligibility requirements.
4) Scholarship Award
a) The NIRMA Scholarship may cover tuition, fees, books, or other education-related expenses as specified in the award letter.
b) The NIRMA Scholarship is a one-time award per recipient.
c) The award amount and disbursement method will be determined by NIRMA and may be paid directly to the recipient or the institution.
d) If the recipient accepts the invitation to attend the NIRMA Symposium, there is an expectation that the recipient attend at least 70 percent of the sessions and networking events.
5) Revocation of Scholarship
a) NIRMA reserves the right to revoke the Scholarship in cases of withdrawal from the institution, or failure to meet eligibility requirements.
b) If the scholarship is revoked the recipient may be required to repay any distributed funds.
6) Publicity and Use of Information
a) By accepting the NIRMA Scholarship, recipients grant NIRMA permission to
i) use their name, photo, and scholarship information for promotional purposes.
ii) publish their essay at NIRMA’s discretion, giving the author credit. This does not preclude the scholarship recipient from publishing their essay in other publications outside of NIRMA.
iii) collect interview questions (with a focus on your interest in records and information management, the nuclear industry, and future career goals) to be used by NIRMA as an article in NIRMA magazine and/or on NIRMA’s website.
b) Any personal data collected will be used strictly for scholarship administration in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
7) Disclaimer
a) NIRMA reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions at any time.
b) NIRMA is not responsible for any unforeseen circumstances that may affect the scholarship award.
8) General Conditions
a) NIRMA reserves the right to modify or cancel the NIRMA Scholarship at anytime without prior notice.
b) By applying for the NIRMA Scholarship, applicants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
